Cecil B. Moore Avenue

In 2013, Project HOME proposed the construction of a a single-story, 28, 545 square foot, community wellness center and adjacent parking lot on a single city block on Cecil B. Moore Avenue.  Six of the forty-seven parcels on the block were occupied, which necessitated Section 106 compliance.

Powers & Company, Inc. was hired to develop a site history for the entire property, using primary source research, including historic and contemporary maps, historic photographs, GIS data and archeological site records, assess the potential existence of any significant archeological resources within the project area, document the condition of the remaining buildings, through description and photographs, and evaluate the proposed impact of their removal.
